Face problems while connecting your Belkin router to the Internet?

Router! It is a networking device, which forwards data packets between two or multiple computer networks. This networking device performs the ‘traffic directing’ functions on the Internet to provide a hassle free Internet connectivity. The routers connect at least two networks, generally two LANs and WANs, or a LAN and its ISP’s network, and decide which way to send each data packet based on their current understanding of the state of the networks they are connected to.

The router is located at any gateway where one network meets another network, including each point of presence on the Internet. Among several router companies in the market, however, there is a trusted name that has highlighted most i.e. Belkin. It is a well-known networking device, and comes with a wide range of options, so users can select as per their needs.

Unfortunately, despite of having amazing features, your router fails to connect the Internet, because of some technical issues. In any case, you are not able to connect the Internet because of some unknown reasons like firmware update, or DNS issues. Now, the question is; how can a user get back online, or connect to Google? Actually, Google maintains its own fixed DNS serve that often serves as an independent point to solve DNS problems. Simply, follow these guidelines to fix your router’s DNS server issues.

Guidelines:
  • First, click on ‘Windows’ icon and go to ‘Control Panel’.
  • Now, click on ‘Network and Internet’, and then click on ‘Network & Sharing Center’.
  • Click the name of the Internet connection, you want to edit.
  • After that, click on ‘Properties’, and select ‘Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), and click on ‘Properties’.
  • Then, click the radio button, next to the following DNS server addresses.
  • Through this step, you can enter the DNS server addresses.
  • The DNS addresses are as follows:
  •  Preferred DNS server – 8.8.8.8
  • Alternate DNS server – 8.8.4.4
  • Simply, click on each of the windows, and close the ‘Control Panel’. Now, your system is configured to use statically assigned DNS server addresses for better experience.
